Save the dates in 2014 – Flagship Management Blue & Gray Golf Classics
The USMMA Alumni Association and Foundation invites you to become a part of the Heidmar Blue and Gray Golf Classics tour, which will change Title Sponsors in 2014 and become known as the Flagship Management Blue & Gray Golf Classics. The 2014 tour see 11 golf tournaments, all throughout the country and all throughout the year. With a record-average number of golfers in 2013, the tour is expected to break additional marks next season. In the end, hundreds of thousands of dollars will go to help support the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and its Department of Athletics. New Website Coming 2014:
A new, more-dynamic and interactive website will launch in January 2014. All 2014 registrations will be begin at that time. We will be adding more social media, a maritime job-recruitment center through Flagship Management, news, better access to tournament photos and more. Please allow patience in the next two months as the site is developed for 2014 operation. The current website is located at www.blueandgraygolf.com.

New Photo Site for Non-Facebook Users

2014 Las Vegas Registration and Hotel Information
The 2014 Las Vegas golf outing is becoming one of the most anticipated events in recent years. The event is open to all and has grown exponentially since USMMA developed the Class Challenge. The USMMA Class Challenge, won last year by the Class of 1986 with 17 attendees, was created a year ago to see which USMMA Class can send the most representatives to the Las Vegas golf outing. The winning class gets a free foursome to be used at any of the Blue & Gray outings during the year. The class gets to pick the members of the foursome. With a record 84 golfers last year, which nearly doubled the field from the previous year, this outing is becoming the fastest growing event on the tour. We are anticipating over 100 golfers in 2014 and we hope to sell out annually in the years to come.
2014 Las Vegas Event Details
The event takes place on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at the Desert Pines Golf Club with a golf fee of $200 per person (includes golf, cart, gifts, drinks, breakfast, lunch and light dinner). For those curious of potential travel plans, the majority of the attendees fly in Wednesday mid-morning and fly out Friday. Participants scheduled the trip to arrive for the annual Wednesday evening cocktail reception at the Nine Fine Irishmen Pub at the New York New York Hotel and Casino. Last year, the event had over 100 attendees as friends, spouses and guests joined the party. Golfers then took to the course on Thursday mid-day with the entire evening left for dinners and Vegas nightlife. 2014 Las Vegas Group Rate
We have established a $73 a night (weekday) base rate at the New York-New York Hotel and Casino. This is considered the “Group Hotel” as the Wednesday Night Welcome Reception takes place inside at the Nine Fine Irishmen. Additionally, for its amenities, location to the airport, highways and Vegas Strip, the hotel is the most fair priced of all hotels in the area. This event also is the first event of the Flagship Management Blue & Gray Golf Classics. Flagship Management takes over as Title Sponsor on January 1, 2014. This event not only kicks-off their sponsorship, but the 2014 tour overall.
