Derrick is a 100 ton charter captain entrepreneur who owned a scuba diving operation on St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands for 12 years. During this time, he took on a variety of roles in scuba diving, pilot boat service, and environmental projects. Derrick also was the materials / logistics manager for a major power plant new construction project at the Captain Morgan Rum Distillery. He has a B.S. in Business and Marketing from Texas Tech University, and calls Dallas, Texas his home.
Derrick has now relocated to South Florida where he is assisting yachts and associated shore businesses connect with the perfect maritime professional. Derrick has knowledge of current MLC labor standards, MCA, USCG licenses and STCW equivalents. He sits on the Broward College Marine Engineering Advisory Board, and is familiar with ABYC and NMEA certifications.
In his spare time, Derrick still likes to be on the water teaching scuba diving and perfecting his underwater photo / video skills.
