With over 20 years of experience in the maritime industry, Mick has utilized his engineering background in a number of assignments. Mick has worked in U.S. Navy shipyards, sailed commercially on U.S.Flag vessels, held several technical engineering sales roles, and has operational experience as a branch manager, in areas ranging from the United States and Latin America. Mick has the unique distinction of having operational experience with nuclear, slow speed diesel, medium speed diesel, gas turbine, and steam propulsion systems. Mick is a marine engineering systems graduate of the US Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point and earned a MBA with the University of Florida. Mick has raised his USCG license to 1st assistant engineer, unlimited hp. He is active in both the KP and UF Alumni Associations, and is a member of several community organizations and charities.
Tim is an experienced executive with a record of success in the maritime industry. Tim has an extensive network of contacts in the ship brokerage, ship finance, insurance, and admiralty law sectors. Tim works primarily with companies and executives to develop marketing and business development opportunities. He is frequently consulted by financial institutions, law firms, and shipping companies on potential business opportunities as well as intelligence in the market. Tim’s professional experience includes time sailing on his merchant marine license onboard tankers. Tim spent 7 years as Manager of Sales at SeaWave LLC providing satellite communications and IT solutions for the maritime industry as part of the original management team. He was essential in securing funding, launching of all sales and marketing activities as well as the eventual buyout of the company. Tim is a 1994 graduate of the US Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point and a licensed deck officer. He is active in many industry organizations and well known throughout the maritime industry.
Jack Mylott leads search and recruitment assignments in a broad array of sectors including maritime, transportation, logistics, and engineering services. Jack brings more than 25 years of maritime and international business experience to his client work. Jack Mylott’s professional experience includes senior executive positions with Tropical Shipping and Ecuadorian Line, as well as starting up and leading several successful entrepreneurial ventures. Jack has led commercial shipping activities and operations in the dry bulk, reefer, and liner markets. His experience covers responsibility for business units in Europe, Asia, the Caribbean, and the Americas. Jack Mylott is a graduate of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, and earned a M.B.A. from St. John’s University. He is a leader in many industry and community organizations, has served as an officer in the U.S. Naval Reserve, and is a licensed deck officer.
With 20 years of marine operations, auditing, and entrepreneurial endeavors, Craig has built a solid career as a networker and business development specialist. Craig has worked with a wide variety of owner/operators in the maritime industry, including deep-sea tankers, passenger vessels, ferry/RO-ROs, and OSVs. Craig has also worked in the industrial arena with a highly technical manufacturer. His international experience includes operations in the Far East and Canada. Craig is a marine engineering graduate of the Maine Marine Academy. Craig has raised his USCG license to chief engineer, unlimited hp. He is the sailing coach for the University of Miami, an avid hockey player, and an active member of the Maine Maritime Academy Alumni Association.
With over 17 years experience in the maritime industry, Rory has worked in a diverse range of sectors in the industry. His recent professional activity included the provision of advice on maritime policy to the Irish government and the provision of specialist maritime taxation advice to government representatives in Europe, the Middle East and South Africa. He was closely involved in development of legislation for the introduction of the Irish tonnage tax, as well as supervising the development of shipping finance schemes. Rory also provided support for companies looking to expand in Europe and invest in the Irish maritime sector. Prior to his involvement with the Irish government, Rory was a business developer for one of the world’s largest maritime risk and research companies. A graduate in economics and politics from the National University of Ireland (NUIG), Rory has a postgraduate diploma in business, also from NUIG, and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Oxford Brookes University.
Mike Stuart graduated from the US Merchant Marine Academy in 2008 with a B.S. in Logistics and Intermodal Transportation. Upon graduation, he sailed for Kirby Inland Marine for over 4 years, being promoted to Pilot and holding a USCG Third Mates License and a Mate of Towing endorsement. In addition, he has experience sailing aboard container vessels and car carriers on his license. Mike specializes in recruiting for the tanker and towing industries, shipyards, class societies, shore-side engineer roles, and marine insurance industries.
Jenni is the office manager for Flagship Management’s European business and is responsible for the administration and financial activities for the company in Europe. Jenni has extensive experience running her own companies in the UK and Hong Kong and brings those skills to the Flagship operation. As well as handling the day to day administrative activities, Jenni is engaged in database management and company research supporting Flagship’s recruiters.
Emma has spent several years working at sea, initially with P&O Cruises and subsequently on the world’s first Semi-Submersible cruise ship, the Radisson Diamond. Emma returned to Ireland where she took up the role of Human Resources officer for the Brown Thomas Group in Dublin. With over 20 years experience in business, Emma has a broad working knowledge of human resources, Sales management, and marketing.
Beth Wilson-Jordan is a graduate of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and earned a Master’s of Science degree in Transportation Management from the State University of New York Maritime College. She is the former President of the Connecticut Maritime Association Board of Directors and her maritime background includes marine fuels, consulting, education, and intermodal operations for a manufacturing firm.
Matt is something of a “veteran” in recruitment terms with over 17 years of experience in international search, the last 13 of which having been dedicated solely to the international shipping industry. Matt has successfully established Shipping recruitment and search businesses and has helped pioneer the shore-based shipping market since 2002, having recruited from graduate to CEO level and everything in between. An active industry participant, Matt speaks and contributes regularly at events on talent and hiring issues within shipping. Matt is Fellow of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (FREC) and a certified Personality Profile Assessment (PPA) practitioner. He is also a proud “Cachalot” (a member of the Southampton Master Mariners Club) as well as an active member of the Propeller Club of London. Matt is also a firm supporter of the Sailors Society.
Derrick is a 100 ton charter captain entrepreneur who owned a scuba diving operation on St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands for 12 years. During this time, he took on a variety of roles in scuba diving, pilot boat service, and environmental projects. Derrick also was the materials / logistics manager for a major power plant new construction project at the Captain Morgan Rum Distillery. He has a B.S. in Business and Marketing from Texas Tech University, and calls Dallas, Texas his home.
Derrick has now relocated to South Florida where he is assisting yachts and associated shore businesses connect with the perfect maritime professional. Derrick has knowledge of current MLC labor standards, MCA, USCG licenses and STCW equivalents. He sits on the Broward College Marine Engineering Advisory Board, and is familiar with ABYC and NMEA certifications.
In his spare time, Derrick still likes to be on the water teaching scuba diving and perfecting his underwater photo / video skills.
Mare is a 1980 graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy with a BS in Marine Engineering. She holds a USCG Chief Engineer License unlimited hp. Mare spent over 10 years shipping on Exxon tankers as well as freighters, container vessels, and passenger vessels. Once ashore, Mare worked as a Port Engineer for MSC, Technical Sales Engineer, Fuel, Lube and Energy Conservation Manager and New Ship Construction Manager for Chevron, Marine Engineering Manager for a start-up San Francisco public ferry system and presently operates Culnane Maritime Consulting LLC concurrently with maritime executive recruiting.
