Counteroffer = Career Suicide

Comments Off on Counteroffer = Career Suicide

For years we’ve been advising candidates against the perils of considering a job counteroffer.  Once you’ve made the decision to accept another job offer and move on, it’s best to stay on that course.  Mentally you’ve checked out of your current role.  You’ve considered other opportunities for a reason.   The new offer provides opportunities that are lacking in your current situation.  From the employer side you’ve shown your loyalty and will never be looked at in the same light.  There’s a time when you have to move on and looking back can be hazardous to your career.
